Ever since the LA Lakers got the second pick in this year’s NBA draft everyone assumed it was a certainty that they would pick Lonzo Ball but that might not be the case anymore.
According to a report from Bleacher Report, Ball did not blow away the Lakers during his pre-draft workout which may open the door for Josh Jackson to get picked up with the second pick.

Yet Ball also didn’t blow the Lakers away or seal any deal in the time he spent with their officials Tuesday and Wednesday, according to sources.
The Lakers remain intrigued by Markelle Fultz and Josh Jackson, and to a lesser extent De’Aaron Fox, along with Ball for their No. 2 overall pick.
ESPN NBA analyst Chad Ford also spoke on their may be a split within the organization on whether or not to draft Ball.
“I also think it reflects a genuine split within the organization about whom the best long-term candidate is. Ball was a clear favorite of the prior administration run by Mitch Kupchak and still has his fans within the organization. But the Lakers also took note on how Fox outplayed Ball in their head-to-head matchup in March. And Jackson has always been another favorite in the organization.”
It seems like the Lakers are just covering all their bases but Lonzo should still be the odds on favorite to get drafted by the team.
